with Velma Bolyard
Dates: Aug 10 - Aug 13 , 2017 - day(s)
9:30 am - 4:30 pm each day.
The alchemy of processing a plant, fiber, rag, into paper is an ancient, beautiful, and eminently practical thing to do, for with paper we can record our stories, make books and boats, make cloth and vessels, lamps to light the world. Paper as substrate, paper as medium, paper as archive are all eventualities; first we will make beautiful papers. You will make paper, experiment with pulps, explore a plethora of ways in which to make objects, be it a book or a cloth from your paper. Students will be able to make at least one book to hold samples of your work.
