Marigold – dried, ground blossoms of the Tagetes species.

To dye: Add the ground flowers to the dye pot at 20-30% WOF, cover with water and simmer for half and hour to extract the color. Strain the dye liquid and add to dye pot. Add fibers and simmer until the desired shade is achieved. An after bath of dissolved ferrous sulfate (iron) at 2% on WOF will yield olive tones.
